ABOUT SUJANPUR
Sujanpur is also known as Sujanpur Tihra. It is a town and a Municipal council in district Hamirpur It is a beautiful town inhabited by Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch ( King of Kangra) which was then shifted from Kangra to Sujanpur Tira after the war with Muslim kings who wanted to capture Kangra fort. Maharaja Sansar Chand constructed his palaces, temples and courts called as Baradari on the peak of hillock called as Tira overlooking Sujanpur’s famous Chaugan, hence the town is called as Sujanpur Tira.
In the middle of this beautiful town there green ground in an of one square kilometre popularly called in Pahari language ‘Chaugan’ but now part of the ground is occupied by the Sanik School.
LOCATION
Sujanpur is approximately at a distance of 522km from delhi. It takes about 9hours 30 minutes to reach sujanpur also it is well-connected to all the major towns of Himachal Pradesh in all the directions through road network near by towns are at following distance from sujanpur, Hamirpur (26 km), Palampur (37 km) and about 122 km from Dharamshala. FESTIVALS
The famous lavish decoration of Baradari and palaces were surrounded by green gardens. While entering Baradari you can see there was Ashtdhtu statue of Lord Shiva placed with colorful décor. Many festivals were celebrated there with full energy details of them are as follows

This town of Sujanpurtira has plenty to offer to the tourists, only they need to go and explore this beautiful town on foot. You can trek toward Tira, or else can walk miles along each side to explore the rich heritage which still bear marks of the old kingdom.
TEMPLES OF SUJANPUR TIRA
Temples and palaces were built by Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch. Some of the temples are a piece of great architecture and Kangra paintings.Other details of temples are as follows
- Murlimanohar which is also now known as Bansiwala temple lies on the left side of the Chowgan ground.
2.Narvadeshwar temple is dedicated to Shiva- Parvti. Is full of great paintings inside the walls overlooking the bank of river Beas and surrounded by 8 ft high.
- Thakardwara temple is not to speak of smaller temples. The temples were built in 1790 and 1823 AD by Maharani Pransani Devi-Suketi which is the Rani of Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch.
4.Chamunda Devi temple is built by Maharaja Sansar Chand within the premises of the palace which still exists.The people of Sujanpurtira are very religious-minded and believer of Indian Gods.

Sainik school is the main attraction in sujanpur, which is located in the green ground in middle of the town also it has added importance to the town.
